Welcome to the first All For The Arts And The Arts For All 2014 Screenplay Competition!
It all starts with the written word. It all starts with the script. You have worked hard at writing your screenplay, now it’s time to start gaining recognition for it.
As a recently formed New York City-based artistic, cultural and educational organization, All For The Arts And The Arts For All is happy to welcome all screenwriters to our very first screenplay competition. We are accepting English language short and feature-length screenplays (no television scripts or stage plays at the present). We will be presenting honorary awards as well as one $300 cash Grand Prize for Best Feature Screenplay and one $200 cash Grand Prize for Best Short Screenplay. We wish you all the best of luck!

Awards & Prizes
One cash award will be given to the Grand Prize Winner for Best Feature Screenplay ($300) and one cash award will be given to the Grand Prize Winner for Best Short Screenplay ($200).
In addition, honorary awards consisting of Gold Winner, Silver Winner, Bronze Winner, will be given in each of the following categories: Action/Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Science Fiction, Family, Historical Drama, Suspense Thriller, Horror.
Rules & Terms
Your entry will qualify as a short screenplay if it is 60 pages or less.
Your entry will qualify as a feature-length screenplay if it is 61 pages or more.
All contestants must be at least 18 years old.
The All for the Arts and the Arts for All Screenplay Competition encourages all entrants to "go green" and submit online exclusively through FilmFreeway.com. Scripts must be entered as a .pdf file and have standard industry formatting.
The entry fees for the All For The Arts And The Arts For All Screenplay Competition range per deadline from $20 to $40. The fee is to be submitted as an online transaction at the time the entry form is completed through FilmFreeway.com. Once the submission process is completed no refunds for the entry fee will be given. Entry fees must be paid in U.S. dollars.
Entries by mail are not allowed. Save the trees!
All rights to the submitted screenplays are retained by the author(s). The All For The Arts And The Arts For All Screenplay Competition does NOT hold any copyright or selling rights of any submitted script.
The All For The Arts And The Arts For All Screenplay Competition is not able or responsible to return entries.
All entries must be original screenplays written by the submitting author or authors. Screenplays adapted from source material written by the submitting author or authors are also allowed (for example, a screenplay based on the same author’s novel or short story). Screenplays adapted from Public Domain sources are also allowed. However, do not submit any screenplays based on any other author’s source or material published or unpublished.
Multiple submissions are allowed but each screenplay must be submitted separately with its own registration entry and fee.
Once the script is submitted, the competition will not accept revisions, new drafts, missing pages or any other modifications to the entry. If you wish to submit a revised draft of your script, you must enter it as a new submission with a new entry fee.
Multiple authors of a script are allowed however, only the first author listed on the online entry form will be considered as primary contact. All listed authors will be considered to have agreed to the terms of the competition’s rules. In the event of multiple authors, any cash award will be divided equally among each author.
Script registration: As an artist, you should always protect your intellectual property. It is always best practice that you register your work with the U.S. Copyright Office or the Writers Guild of America, east or west.
The title page of your screenplay should include your name, address, phone number, email, copyright or WGA registration notice and category of submission (Action/Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Science Fiction, Family, Historical Drama, Suspense Thriller, Horror).
All entries must be the original works of the author or authors listed on the entry form and screenplay and not in violation of any copyright, trademark, and/or intellectual property laws or violate ethical writing standards. Any entry found to be in contravention of the above or plagiarized will be disqualified. In addition, All For The Arts And The Arts For All Screenplay Competition shall not be held liable for any legal action resulting from unlawful entries.
You agree to indemnify All For The Arts And The Arts For All and hold harmless us, our officers, affiliates, employees, and partners from any and all claims and liability arising out of entering your screenplay to the All For The Arts And The Arts For All Screenplay Competition. By entering your screenplay you agree that you have read and understood all rules and terms.
Winners of the All For The Arts And The Arts For All Screenplay Competition will be announced on December 1, 2014.
